The Narrow Path of Masculinity | Steven Bailey | TEDxLondon - LCF Graduate SummitI chose to discuss a subject I curated as "The Narrow Path of Masculine Identity" - something I am very passionate about. I took it from my own personal perspective within the demographic of a millennial gay man searching for an identity in a fashion world still so heavily influenced and dictated by gender constraints. I explore the complexity frustrations this can then lead to both with self construction, as well as the prejudice one faces from others in their surrounding environments.

Head of Workroom ProductionAnglia Fashion Fabrics

Six years experience with a progression starting from Assistant to Head of Workroom enable me to run a successful production department, and execute projects efficiently, on schedule and to an exceptionally high standard for the company’s interior design service: Keeping key stakeholders up to date with important project information and their lead times. Overseeing all processes of in-house production, as well as quality control of outsourced projects from external contractors. Training and management of assistant technicians to a high standard in hand sewing techniques, construction processes and other task list completions. Through critical and innovative thinking I have redeveloped product design in its quality and capabilities. These have increased company revenues through shorter lead times - making the business a higher competitor with bigger brands - as well as a significant increase in client satisfaction with craftsmanship; seen through our online reviews and customer feedback.

Working alongside the Creative Director to manage end to end product development. I used my background in hand sewing and manufacture to assist in the construction of garments featuring traditional British Tailoring methods. Also participated heavily in fabric research - sourcing all natural fibres from UK based mills. The brand has since been featured in Tatler magazine, Paris Fashion Week 2021, and building an international client base in boutiques in the USA and China
