Experienced Producer-Director working across the broadcast, corporate and charity sectors in the UK and South Africa.
My creative toolkit includes film & video production (producing, directing and writing), directing virtual reality workflows, and digital project management for medium to large enterprises.
In South Africa, I conceived and directed several large, branded multi-channel projects, often with a strong broadcast element, such as reality, magazine or travel television shows, supplemented by additional content - stings, commercials, public service advertisements and social media content.
International clients include Unilever, Heineken, SAB Miller, Ford and Naspers.
Based in the UK since 2014, I've delivered projects for several London-based digital agencies, multi-national corporate clients, international charities and publishing houses.
Clients have included the All England Lawn Tennis Association (Wimbledon), Madame Tussauds, Oasis Housing Charity, UK Gov, News UK and the Independent.
My own company, Sentient Pictures, focuses on using film & video to promote social justice issues.
Since early 2016, I have also specialized in VR, shooting and post-producing VR / 360 degree films.
I was Creative Director on the Alive Project, a government-funded R&D project (Innovate UK) exploring the use of Lightfield Volumetric Capture and its potential for enhanced storytelling in VR.
Alive was a collaboration between Figment Productions, The University of Surrey and The Foundry.
In 2017, I lectured in 'How to Shoot for VR' at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in Beaconsfield.

Guildford, United KingdomFull Time
18 month contract as Creative Lead at Figment Productions, specialising in VR. Clients included Boston Scientific Healthcare (US), The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Wimbledon), Madame Tussauds and Merlin Entertainments.
I was also Creative Director on the Alive Project. Alive stands for 'Live Action Lightfields for Immersive Virtual Reality Experiences'.
This was a government-funded R&D project (falling under the Innovate UK banner) exploring the use of Lightfield Volumetric Capture in VR and its potential for enhanced storytelling, specifically using lightfield capture technology to give a much more realistic appearance and sense of immersion than is currently possible.
The project resulted in new algorithms and methods, including new ways of accurately tracking moving multi-camera lightfield rigs; representing, editing, post-producing and streaming immersive light-fields; and rendering the results as free-viewpoint video with true parallax to support viewer head movement, in real time, to consumer headsets. This was explored in a short experimental VR film.
Alive was a collaboration between Figment Productions, The University of Surrey and The Foundry.
