I am a freelance music and arts professional with over 7 years experience working in the cultural sector. I have worked with a wide range of projects and companies such as The Barbican, Battersea Arts Centre, Chanel, Rockfeedback, i-D Magazine, Latitude Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In this time I have acquired a detailed knowledge of live performance events and artist management, and pride myself on having the right balance of interpersonal and technical understanding to facilitate a smooth and positive experience for artists and audiences alike.Locked Pro Plan feature
As one of this promoter’s main freelancers over the last two years, I act as events manager for many of their shows around London, ensuring the smooth running of any gig I work on. This role is about having the right balance of interpersonal skills, technical knowledge and logistical understanding. I act as the liaison between the band, the promoter and the venue, dealing with technical aspects such as load ins, sound and lighting fit ups, and sound-checks, as well as ticketing, guest list, band hospitality, and settlements. With RFB I have moved from managing small gigs at venues such as Shacklewell Arms to sold out shows at Koko within a short space of time. I recently acted as assistant on RFB’s biggest ever selling show: Flume at Alexandra Palace, and also Stage Manager for Songhoy Blues at The Roundhouse and production assistant on Visions Festival ’16 & ‘17. Other bands I have worked with for RFB include MØ, Father John Misty, Bloc Party, Let’s Eat Grandma and Blaenavon.
I worked with i-D magazine and Chanel on this immersive art installation created by Es Devlin. I was hired for the project as lead steward, managing a team of 12 to welcome and guide large audience numbers through the installation. A hugely popular exhibition, this was a truly challenging and rewarding experience.
My role at The Barbican saw me assisting in the day-to-day operation of the concert hall in the delivery of a wide ranging and diverse programme of music and arts events, ranging from classical music, electronica, opera, live film soundtracks, jazz and more. Some of the highlights in this job were working on the world premiere of Nick Cave's '20,000 Days on Earth', also Beck's 'Songreader' project, and Nils Frahm's 'Possibly Colliding' weekender.
