This is a role leading a complex transformational project with a direct team of six and matrix teams across the UK. Objective of the work Macmillan spends over £100m per year on cancer services delivered through partners like the NHS and other health and social care providers. I am responsible for leading the design of the processes, systems, tools, and learning and support offer required to transform the effectiveness of our partnership working. Ultimately this is a cultural and behavioural change programme enabled through process and systems for the hundreds of staff employed across the UK to do this work. Rhymes with Orange is a spoken word collective bringing exciting performance poetry to a whole new audience. I write, perform and compere at London's biggest spoken word night and help others do the same. We have performed at festivals, including the Underbelly at Edinburgh Fringe for the last two years. I am hugely passionate about getting people up on stage and finding the inner creative in everyone. We host writing and performance workshops and run annual retreats for groups of new writers. I have also had my poetry published.
This was a fundraising leadership role reporting into the Director of High Value Fundraising, with four direct reports, a team of fourteen and responsibility for matrix management of a wide range of cross- organisational projects. It was a new role following a large scale change programme and strong leadership was essential. It also required the ability to build clarity of purpose into an entirely new function, recruit a whole new team and hold senior leaders to account in delivering the strategy. Strategy Develop the High Value strategy, including Corporate Partnerships, Philanthropy and Special Events. Drive the Learning, Culture and Development plan for the department. Plan and commission insight and donor research to ensure targeted donor activity. Develop the High Value impact reporting offer through the setup and design of the Fundraising Service Liaison Team. Planning and Performance Set up and monitor the High Value planning and budgeting cycle. Lead on monthly financial reporting and performance measurement on the senior management team. Embed Raiser’s Edge across High Value and driving the use of data in a typically data poor environment. Donor Experience Lead the Donor Stewardship and Special Events function, generating £1m per year in fundraised income and running a large portfolio of events.
