About me

I am an accomplished change leader, programme manager and fundraiser with ten years experience in the third sector and a track record of high quality delivery in demanding work. I'm an intelligent and dynamic team player recognised for my leadership skills, ability to build effective relationships and manage a diverse range of stakeholders. I love ambiguity and complexity - bringing a personal and enthusiastic style to challenging projects. I am proactive and dynamic with excellent communication and facilitation skills. Founding member of Rhymes with Orange The biggest and most fun spoken word night in London - (orangesrhyme.com), a night designed to get people into performance poetry. We had a sell-out run at Edinburgh Fringe in 2015; watch this space for 2016. Co-Director of Wordplay Our fast paced sessions will breathe life and enthusiasm into your team. We use writing, performing and whole lot in between to bring teams together in a new and exciting way. Career Potted History: Currently working at Macmillan Cancer Support leading a services change programme. I am passionate about leading change effectively and an expert in working in ambiguity across complex organisational projects. I previously worked on strategy development for High Value fundraising, working on corporate partnerships, major donors and trusts - as well as with volunteer committees. During the first few years of my career, I gained experience in PR, sales and new business both in the commercial sector and in the charitable sector - at an agency, a private business and at Macmillan Cancer Support and the NSPCC.

  • This was a fundraising leadership role reporting into the Director of High Value Fundraising, with four direct reports, a team of fourteen and responsibility for matrix management of a wide range of cross- organisational projects. It was a new role following a large scale change programme and strong leadership was essential. It also required the ability to build clarity of purpose into an entirely new function, recruit a whole new team and hold senior leaders to account in delivering the strategy. Strategy Develop the High Value strategy, including Corporate Partnerships, Philanthropy and Special Events. Drive the Learning, Culture and Development plan for the department. Plan and commission insight and donor research to ensure targeted donor activity. Develop the High Value impact reporting offer through the setup and design of the Fundraising Service Liaison Team. Planning and Performance Set up and monitor the High Value planning and budgeting cycle. Lead on monthly financial reporting and performance measurement on the senior management team. Embed Raiser’s Edge across High Value and driving the use of data in a typically data poor environment. Donor Experience Lead the Donor Stewardship and Special Events function, generating £1m per year in fundraised income and running a large portfolio of events.
