About me
Su has over 15 years of design experience working in museums and the cultural sector in the UK and abroad. She has worked on projects with institutions such as the Olympic Museum, Hong Kong Museum of History, National Museum of Scotland, British Museum, National Maritime Museum, and the National Trust. Su has designed galleries that have won the Museum and Heritage 2017 Awards for best permanent gallery and 2017 winner of the International Dibner Award for Excellence in Museum Exhibits. Prior to this Su has worked on diverse architectural projects. Su has also lectured on architectural design and history. Su's teaching involvements include full time lecturing at UCSI in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, workshops with the Leicester University's School of Museum Studies, and being on the architectural crit jury panel at London Metropolitan University and Greenwich University.

    Marketing visual for upcoming book 'The Museum Makers: A Journey Backwards - from Old Boxes of Dark Family Secrets to a Golden Age of Museums'I recently created this visual for an upcoming book by Rachel Morris to be used in bookshops and online. The image evokes the central concept of the book - making sense of our memories and the stories attached to pieces that we inherit from the past.
  • 'The Great British Seaside: Photography from the 1960s to the Present' Exhibition, National Maritime Museum, London
    'The Great British Seaside: Photography from the 1960s to the Present' Exhibition, National Maritime Museum, LondonI designed the exhibition which showcased the works of four photographers: Martin Parr, Tony Ray-Jones, David Hurn and Simon Roberts. In the middle of the exhibition is a series of abstracted beach huts, which housed a seaside cinema showing short films of the photographers. The exhibition ran for the summer of 2018.

    National Maritime Museum's New Parkside Entrance, LondonI designed the National Maritime Museum's new parkside entrance fitout, which included a new reception desk, a 'Welcome Wall' (featuring a large video well and new wayfinding), and improved lighting, to create better visitor welcome, orientation and celebrating the museum's metanarrative themes.

    'A History of Fashion in 100 Objects' Exhibition, Bath'A History of Fashion in 100 Objects' exhibition showcased 100 star pieces drawn from the Fashion Museum's world-class collection, which opened in 2016. I led the design this exhibition whilst working with Metaphor.

    Parc Olympique, Lausanne, SwitzerlandI led the design and curation of the world class sculptures as part of the visitor journey through the Parc Olympique in Lausanne, Switzerland, while working with Metaphor. The video animation by Fabrice Bourelly shows the proposed scheme which was implemented in 2014

    The Olympic Journey: The Story of the Games exhibition, Royal Opera House, LondonThe Olympic Journey: The Story of the Games took place at the Royal Opera House London as part of the London 2012 Festival. The exhibition was a joint production between The Olympic Museum, The Royal Opera House and BP, to tell the Olympic story from ancient to modern. I was the led designer for the the project whilst working with Metaphor. Images shown include a larger than life ancient Greek vase with projected animation of an ancient Olympic chariot race.

Completed projects include: 'The Great British Seaside: Photography from the 1960s to the Present' exhibition, redesigning the National Maritime Museum's two entrances, redisplay of 'The Courtyard' gallery, Royal Museums Greenwich Members's Room, National Maritime Museum's Learning Space and a masterplan/feasibility study for the National Maritime Museum.
