About me
My name is Suleega Aweys, I'm a recent graduate at Goldsmiths university where I studied BA Journalism. I am a conscientious person who works hard and pays attention to detail. I'm flexible, quick to pick up new skills and eager to learn from others. I also have lots of ideas and enthusiasm. I'm keen to work for a magazine with a good reputation like yours. I have a love for magazines and plan in having a career in journalism and I’m studying Journalism at Goldsmiths university.
As a Journalism student I’m building my writing and technical skills such as editing new pieces on FinalCutPro or Premiere and working on news stories on my school news site Eastlondonlines. I write and research local stories within East London as a student journalist.
Working at your magazine would be an amazing opportunity for me to develop my skills as a journalist and get an insight on what it takes to be a successful journalism. I am highly motivated, outgoing and hardworking individual. I am reliable, driven and an excellent team player. I am a very determined person with an excellent work ethic, which I believe to be important in working to achieve the best possible results.

• helped research top news stories of the week,and then developed research files for each stories with any relevant information for the editors to then write.
• thoroughly fact checked any articles that the editors needed

• Each week I found a story with east London lines and pitch it to the news editor.I was also the news editor for a week and was responsible for all the student journalists. This has help me gain a lot of skills of being a journalist and helped developed my leadership skills.
• I also did a video piece about the university pension strikes where I interview students and lectures on the their thoughts about the strike and the positive or negative that the stike has on them. This would be posted on the eastlondonlines website soon. Also I’m developing my own website about veganism in the muslim community that would be up on march 29th. Which showcases my data journalism skills with original pictures and video interview.
