About me
I am a textiles student at Cardiff Metropolitan University specialising in digital surface pattern design, close to graduating. My current collection focuses on declining species in the UK, I also take part in regular contests working with themes I have never tried before, from these I work with colour palettes I do not usually use and demonstrate my ability to work with a range of themes and styles and to learn quickly when needed. These can be viewed on my Portfolio website: www.tahliapaige.co.uk During lockdown, I am working on expanding my skill-set in digital design by taking workshops and webinars, and finishing my current pattern collection. I am enjoying working at home and have made myself a productive atmosphere in the house. This is why I think a remote role would be perfect for me.
Projects
  • Mushroom Repeats
Mushroom RepeatsWorking on some repeats towards my final graduate collection! The mushrooms are a small part of the larger collection, which is inspired by declining woodland species in the UK. The mushrooms were part of the Dormouse mini-collection, part 1 of 4 in my graduate collection. I am so excited to be working on something I love, and I cannot believe the end of my 3 long years is approaching. Open to opportunities within surface pattern, print design, stationary design!
  • Fruity Ice Lolly Collection
Fruity Ice Lolly CollectionThis project found inspiration from the Spoonflower contest 'Ice Cream Truck', I created the first hero design originally to play with bright colours and a theme that I had not worked with before. I built a little collection from this with the lollies and the fruits I used, I would love to see this visualised on some products. See the rest of the collection on my website: www.tahliapaige.co.uk
  • British Owls Pattern Collection
British Owls Pattern CollectionFor the Spoonflower contest, I decided to use the theme of Large Birds and explore British Owls, that I think are not only very pretty creatures, but also very recognisable. I added some bright foliage around them for the main design which was uploaded as a seamless repeat last week. I created the rest of the collection for fun, using the blues and pinks as well as the other owls.

My three year course is very close to the end, I am currently working on my graduate collection due in a few weeks. I specialised in stitch first but developed a love for digital surface pattern design, which I have been focusing on particularly in my third and final year. I achieved a first in my Dissertation and am currently waiting to hear about my other results.
