I started my career off here as a designer assistant working across both women’s and children’s design teams. As an assistant I digitalised trend boards, sent out essential swatches, worked extensively with Pantones, worked with designers, buyers & merchandisers to get a better understanding of the business goals, helped with brief sheets, printing range sheets, setting up meeting rooms, logging in samples, prepping designers for trips and updating and creating trend packs.
Landing my promotions after proving myself on an over seas supplier trip to Turkey I was given the opportunity to work with the brands design department .
Here I worked with the senior designer to fulfil daily tasks, designed prints, drawing up garments on Illustrator as well as contributing my own research and ideas to help elevate the womenswear lines.
I was also over seeing the teen range, where I was the sole design influence on the department.
Taking on a designers role at a junior level was more that why I could have hoped for, here I set trends, colour pallets, key shapes, selected and designed prints and identified customer profiles that I went on to present to the board of directors.
