I am a Freelance Graphic & Textile Designer based in London. I have studied in Spain, Norway and London and that had influenced my way of designing and approaching graphics and textile. I am passionate about design and I love creating new products and graphics.
- Designing and developing commercial and fashionable soft accessories and bag ranges. - Trend research & putting together moodboards. - Creating innovative design concepts and researching new and original ideas. - Develop colour themes for each season for each clients. - Produce sketches; Mock ups, Specifications and documentation that effectively communicate design intent to the Buyers and Factories. - Creating presentations forecasting trends and recommending appropriate ranges for each client taking in consideration their brand identity and needs. - Developing products with far east factories. - Manage the accessories design critical path, ensuring all deadlines are adhered to. - Be involve in each aspect from the design and the development to production. - Identify key accessories and bag shapes for the season through trend forecasting and regular inspirational research and to make sure they are suited for the market of each customer. - Identifying new areas of growth and development for the Accessories department. Develop new products and shapes each season. - Sourcing new materials, yarns and fabrics each season. - Visit Trade Shows and retail both within the UK and overseas to gain an overview of future trends. - Seeking out and predicting new trends following catwalks, bloggers and street style, being confident in my choices along with setting key themes seasonally.
- Bringing creative, innovative and trend aware design to the table by originating and presenting new original designs to Design, Buying and Production teams. - Produce sketches; Mock ups, Specifications and documentation that effectively communicate design intent to the Buyers and Factories. - Identification, development and design of new products and their packaging, as well as propose Material, Finish and Color options for both. - Managing the workload of the hard lines design team, problem solving and training when necessary. - Identify customer needs and design trends, propose design solutions and research projects. - Create multiple concepts that help the Design Director to make a decision on final product directions. - Good understanding of retail competition. Trend awareness and market knowledge, as well as attending trade shows and comp shopping for inspiration. - Managing the hard lines production method in the factory to ensure that the working method is the most efficient. - Cost and turn around time reduction by recommending different techniques and the use of other more efficient machines for our print on demand production. - Improving the production process by using my wide material knowledge and printing techniques on ceramics, hard lines, and textiles to ensure that we obtain the best results. - Work very close with the buyers to create products within budget and deadlines by recommending and researching new products and material to keep with new trends. - Contacting Factories in Uk and abroad for new development and cutting down costs by negotiating pricing and fees, while ensuring the continuation and enhancements of services. - On special occasions designing Trade Shows Stands, Packaging, Brochures, leaflets, Banner for web, PO, photo retouch and window displays.
- Designing and developing commercial ranges which will include products such as; giftware, housewares, bathroom accessories, Stationary and Greeting cards. - Identify key trends and innovative products for mood boards and presentations in preparation for buying trips. - Managing design projects from initial brief to final production. CAD origination, creation of tech packs for Suppliers in the far east as well as design of swing tags and all packaging aspects. - Managing the production from first prototypes to final result, from sample reviewing to approval of the final products. - Work very close with suppliers and buying team to full fill the brand’s needs. - Ideas and slogan origination for mugs and greeting cards joy’s own collection. - Identify ways to improve the design process in order to reduce turnaround times and cost. - Remain current with new trends and materials to include them in our new collections by keeping constantly updated and attending trade shows. - Creating innovative and exciting exhibition materials for fashion shows including catalogues, pull-up banners and exhibition stands and displays. - Bringing to live creative and innovative design ideas for the company graphics, windows display and PO, marketing material such as flyers, posters, emails, leaflets, Press adverts etc. Making sure that the Brand shows their quirky and unique style by creating strong illustrations and images to represent it. - Making Joy campaign shots looks their very best by photo retouching the images each season to make sure that they would look perfect when used for marketing campaigns. - Assisting the buying team in trade shows selecting products to be sold at the Joy stores.
