About me
I am a recent Textile and Surface Design from NCAD, Dublin, Ireland and have just recently moved to London where I am an intern at Mira Mikati. I’m a messy person, who constantly has a lot of things going on in her head, gets distracted very easily and is always full of curiosity. This comes across throughout my work in terms of research and my use of colour and imagery. This can mainly be seen in my experimental approach to using materials. Although as a textile and surface design student I make wearables, not all of my wearables are made with conventional fabrics in fashion and textiles. I’m really interested in the use of unusual materials, such as plastic, pvc, laminated fabric, and playing around with transparency. These types of materials generally have the capacity to catch your eye and make people intrigued; either by the fabric itself or the processes used on the fabric. This sense of wonder generally leads to the impromptu touching of materials. This is an element I like to have within my work; the ability to make people instantly curious. Throughout my work, my illustrations and use of mixed media may seem child-like but I really like this effect and I feel it adds a personal element to my collection. I’m really inspired by this aesthetic and by artists such as Grace Miceli and Bas Kosters, who use markers and do hand drawn illustrations, rather than doing it all digitally on photoshop or illustrator.

We have tried to make the list as diverse as possible (because diversity in itself breeds creativity) and is made up of architects, artists, authors, change-m
