About me

I am a writer and performance poet. I have been featured nationwide, including at Waltham Forest Mela 2019, the Migration and Diaspora Literature Festival 2019, AWAN (Arab Women Artists Now) 2018 festival and at the Poetry Cafe in London. I was the subject of a documentary on spoken word shown at the BFI called 'Hear My Voice' (2017). Recently I have rounded off my final year as an English Literature and Creative Writing student in producing a thirty page script, a five minute stand-up comedy set and a collection of poetry. My main topics of interest are mental health, displacement, generational trauma, family and romantic relationships, faith, identity and womanhood. My other job roles include project management for the Muslim women running club, ASRA, founded by influencer Sahra-Isha.
