About me
My passion is photography. I am a research based, conceptual photographer. As an artist I have obsessively collected objects of interest. This activity has led me to catalogue every single object that I own in an attempt to classify my life at this moment. Time is a recurring theme in my work as is the seemingly mundane and banal aspects of our lives. I have experience as a heritage worker, in event management, launch events, implementing educational workshops, I have been involved in the running of a magazine and promoting projects through social media. I am confident to lead workshops and meetings. I have experience with HLF (Heritage Lottery Fund) application, assisting on budgeting/accountancy for the application, booking exhibition spaces. My written and oral communication skills are strong; I am able to proofread others and my own work thoroughly. I am punctual, organized, open minded, critically aware and multi-tasking is something that I have become accustomed to. I have prioritised work, projects and my own personal practice as a photographer to meet tight deadlines. Working for Newham NDP as a Heritage Worker in a small team of three, allowed me to work flexibly across all levels of the organization. My organizational and project management skills allowed me to execute skills such as; exhibition planning, organizing meetings amongst photographers, planning private view, letter writing skills, MS excel and PowerPoint skills, planning and leading team meetings, public speaking, publishing/press releases, recording & filming interviews, social media, interviewing future employees. I have spent time gaining valuable experience, being a Team Leader at Camden Arts Centre and as a Front of House Assistant. Customer service included answering questions about the exhibition/artist/ gallery. In addition my time spent working in retail has given me valuable experience dealing with the public, my diplomacy skills have increased dramatically. Whilst working for Interact Magazine as a Photographer and Writer I gained experience in editing and producing bodies of photography work to be included in the magazine, writing two articles for the magazine, also assisting editing articles and proof reading other writers works. This magazine was published both in print and was available online. The best communication methods succeed in putting across the right message in a clear, unambiguous way. Clarity is something that is important whilst promoting projects through social media. I have experience promoting various projects through social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Flickr and YouTube Social media is now a normal part of everyday modern life. When it comes to promoting a project or event, they are essential tools. Blogs, Podcasts and communities online are all also valuable tools in promoting and discussing projects.
