About me
I am a Slovakian photographer currently living and working in London. I specialise in portrait and fine art photography. My commercial clients include the designer Sophie Hulme or The White Company, and editorialy I regularly work for The FT Magazine, Telegraph Magazine, The New Yorker, The Port Magazine or Hello Mr Magazine. I received a Bachelors Degree in Photography from Middlesex University in 2014 and currently I am undertaking my Masters at the Royal College of Art. In 2013, whilst still studying, I was one of the winners of the Daniel Blau Gallery’s ‘5 Under 30’ Young Photographers’ Competition. In the same year I was also shortlisted for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize in the National Portrait Gallery and exhibited at the Somerset House as part of the Student Focus Competition organized by the World Photography Organisation. In 2014, with two photographs nominated, I was the winner of the D&AD Yellow Pencil for Photography. In November 2015 I received the John Kobal New Work Award 2015, a special award for an artist under 30 whose work has been shortlisted for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize. As part of this award I have received a commission from the National Portrait Gallery to photograph actor Jack O'Connell and his portrait has become a part of the permanent collection of the NPG. Since then The National Portrait Gallery acquired also a portrait of artist Julie Verhoeven. Instagram: @tereza_cervenova

  • See Through
See ThroughSee Through is a reflection on those fragile moments in life when we are comfortable and we fall under the impression that things are stable and everything is as it should be. However we never know what can change within a day and how life can be turned upside down. But then in hindsight when details start to fall in to place and elements of our life become transparent, we suddenly see through the layers, ready to start again.

  • VERSE
VERSEThis work is an exploration of photography used as a poetic language. It is my personal response to the flow of life, where everyday events are transformed into poignant memories. The subjects of the photographs are not only the protagonists of their stories; they are vessels for my thoughts. As such the viewer is invited to re-interpret these fleeting moments through the hidden reflections of their own memories and experiences.
