I have recently returned home to England after travelling the world and working in Australia. Prior to living in Australia I graduated from Northumbria University with a BA Honours in Interior Architecture. Throughout my degree and my previous I have gained and developed extensive experience and knowledge that I believe provides me with the skills necessary to enable me to pursue a range of different careers. I have demonstrated a high level of self-motivation and ability to work successfully without supervision throughout my academic life. I am able to organise my work using a number of computer software packages including the Microsoft suite, Apple Mac and Adobe design e.g Photoshop, Indesign and AutoCad. During my time at university I produced and presented design project boards to external clients. My previous jobs have been fast paced and demanding and required good time management. Tasks had to be delivered both to a high standard and to time critical deadlines. I enjoy working as part of a team and I have developed sound working relationships both at university and within my working career.
Undertook a range of office duties - making and receiving telephone calls, maintaining files and various IT work using a range of Microsoft packages. Introduced me to working in a busy office environment and further improved my IT skills including how to work confidently with Microsoft Office software. Taught me the importance of working in an organised, timely manner.
In order for me to extend my working visa in Australia for a second year I had to carry out farm work in a regional area. This was my ‘Survival Island’ moment of which I embraced. Increased my time management skills as we had vital deadlines to meet to send large orders out to supermarkets so we had to work at a very fast pace but keeping the products to high quality.
Worked with local residents, a small design team and officers of a Housing Association to develop the com- munity’s ideas and aspirations for a housing redevelopment site. Enabled me to experience work on a “real life” project and further improve my communications and creative skills.
Shadowed artists and took the general public on tours of the park explaining the creative ideas behind both the art and sculptures. Developed my interpersonal, design and team working skills.
