Theodora Adjepong is a British born and London based textile designer of Ghanaian heritage. Theodora's design philosophy and inspirations are taken from the blends her African and British roots when creating art and prints; taking inspiration from cross-cultural and traditional colourful , quirky pop art style work and reformulating them into fresh and quirky bold prints that promote unique character and personality through interiors, fashion and art.
Theodora completed a four-year degree at the University of the Creative Arts where she studied Fashion, Promotion, and Imagery. During her studies, she developed a passion for textile design, traditional, and digital printing. She then went on to study at The University of East London where she completed her master in Print design.
She decided to create a project based on old African prints and adding a bespoke and new touch thus forming the premise and springboard to the Quirky Diamond Brand. Since then, she has worked as a full-time designer for clients such as J by Jasper Conran, Debenhams, Huntsman, Savile Row and many more.
Projects
- The Acorn Within HerCommission: Hector's Global Hair. The brief was to create a print that was African inspired and that represented nature and beauty. When creating this project I did a lot of research I wanted to create pieces that were strong and I looked into the Acorn tree and like the fact that its one of the smallest seeds yet it grows the biggest tree just like a powerful woman I also took inspirations from an African proverb that says; ‘A little bush grows better than a big tree.’ Creative Director & hai
