My name is Thet Oo and I am currently heading up Marketing and Special Bookings at AMCK Models London, the only premium agency in London exclusively representing male models. I am also the social media manager at AMCK Models, i.e. in charge of all social handles of AMCK Models including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. I am currently looking for a career opportunity that will enable me to develop my communication skills within the fashion industry at a brand I am passionate about. Previous to AMCK, I was a Press Executive at Hearst Magazines UK, working closely with the Head of Communications and Senior PR Manager across Hearst's luxury titles ELLE UK, Harper’s Bazaar and Esquire. Prior to that, I have completed placements at Modus Publicity, Kitch & Honey PR and within the TOPSHOP Marketing department. I was also fortunate enough to be one of few graduates selected for the TOPSHOP Retail Management Graduate Programme after I finished the University of Manchester with a 2:1 in BA (hons) English Language. In addition, I have also completed a creative degree BA (hons) in Creative Direction for Fashion at the London College of Fashion in 2014.
• Social Media: Social Media Manager of AMCK Models London – Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat & Facebook. Daily promotions of recent and upcoming campaigns, brand collaborations, editorials and new talent. I single-handedly grew the following of AMCK Models Instagram account from 6000 to 22,000 followers within one year of working at AMCK. • PR & Marketing Activity: Actively seeking of potential marketing ventures, PR opportunities and brand collaborations at AMCK. Production of press releases, brand presentations, web & social media editorial content as part of initiation and negotiation with brands and clients • Talent Management: Special bookings for high-profile talents & influencers across both AMCK Models & AMCK Dance – brand collaborations, public appearances, social media content and events • Events & Sponsorship: Events Planning duties include liaising with sponsor brands, managing the guestlist, scouting events locations, creating new partnerships and talent booking • Fashion Week: 4 successful seasons of London Collections: MEN working with menswear brands such as British GQ, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Coach and Topman
• PR & Editorial: o Worked closely with the Head of PR on the luxury titles Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Esquire putting together Press Releases for both commercial and corporate affairs. o Helped generated both national and international press coverage of monthly articles across all 21 Hearst titles such as Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Red and Good Housekeeping. o Management and maintaining of relationships with national, international Press and Key Industry Personnel • Events Management: Compiled guestlists, press invitations and managed press involvement at magazine events and annual Awards ceremonies such as Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, ELLE Style Awards, Cosmopolitan Women of the Year Awards, Gorkana Breakfast meetings and other London Fashion Week and LC:M parties • Social Media Control: Control of the company (Hearst Magazine UK)’s Linkedin account twitter account. Took sole responsibility of creating and distributing the Weekly News Trade Summary across the entire company and ensured Hearst’s internal communications webpage and the company’s website are updated regularly with current internal affairs
