I am responsible for the development and management of content related to the event schedule, for use in all online communications in a variety of media.
Role included writing and gaining press for artists aspiring to gain a place on the music academy and building web platforms, artists website, blogs and look after social media pages. .
The project worked with local businesses, community groups, the arts, and both public and private sector organisations to regenerate North Finchley Town Centre. We ran a series of consultations with many local people and businesses in the area to find out what people wanted in North Finchley. We recycled a fantastic space and restored the Art Deco Grand Arcade to embody and promote culture, community and commerce through the Hasler Art Gallery, the hot desk business lounge and a hireable pop up retail, restaurant and community space. I was responsible for the day to day running of the project, co-ordinating activities, events, exhibitions and developing a sustainability strategy that enabled the project to run beyond the cessation of grant funding.
My role as record label assistant gave me a broad understanding of their global operation. My duties generally included uploading and monetising content on You Tube and Soundcloud pages, compiling scripts for weekly radio shows and gathering and presenting chart updates. I also compiled feedback from online publications, created excerpts for press releases, prepared sales notes and liaised with piracy protectors.
Outsider is a leading film production company specialising in the production of TV commercials. My role as a runner involved conducting research for job treatments, liaising with producers regarding specific requirements for various jobs and managing receipts throughout to ensure all outgoings are accounted for.
This was an excellent opportunity, allowing me to work with both the artist booking agency and label group. My roles included assisting with the development of MN2S’ client base world-wide, collecting data of venues from websites, artist’s community networks, assisting with artist pitch documents, providing support to the MN2S label group and researching new artists.
During my time at the BBC I worked across areas of the whole station, learning and completing various jobs on different shows whilst working with a number of producers and presenters. I learnt many new skills, such as technical digital editing skills and studio practical skills, I performed various research tasks, coming up with creative ways of engaging the audience before, during and after the show via multimedia platforms and planned a creative treatment and questions for interviews with guests on the shows. It was an invaluable opportunity and an extremely useful experience.
