About me

My career so far has taken me down a path slightly less travelled. I became interested in web development whilst studying at Leeds University. I graduated with a BA (Hons) 2:1 in Communication Studies. Shortly after, I moved to London and began working as a Frontend Developer. After a few years in an ad agency environment, I made the decision to pursue a career in music as a Producer/DJ. I enjoyed a succesful period of my life in the music industry but over the last few years I have transitioned back into development as a full time career. I've been working as a freelancer at a range of places such as The Labour Party, a dating app start up and various bar/restuarant venues. I am now fully focused on finding a role in a team where I can make solid a contribution and continue learning. I am proficient in a range of core modern Front End web development technologies such as, Vanilla Javascript, ES6, React, HTML5, CSS3, LESS/SASS, Responsive Web Design with CSS Grid/Flexbox, NodeJS, NPM, Webpack, Gulp/Grunt, Git. I really enjoy the creativity and problem solving aspects of Front End development and I am super keen to continue learning about functional programming in a professional team environment.

• The Street EasyRedesign and build for a bar/restaurant. Focus was on a contemporary design with engaging scroll based animations. The CMS schema makes it simple for the client to keep the menu updated. https://thestreeteasy.com/
• Zeal Dating App websiteDesign and build for a new dating app start up. Built using Gatsby and GSAP animation library. Sign up form utilises React Hook Form and city finder APIs. Blogging capability set up from the Sanity CMS.

  Posters for Nightmares on Wax 'Wax Da Jam' event.I created assets for the 10th anniversary of legendary night 'Wax Da Jam', run by Nightmares on Wax. The brief was to create an all season poster inspired by the DIY style of party flyers in Chicago, NYC and Detroit a la Ron Hardy at Music Box. I also created a set of 10 images for instagram event announcements, the aesthetic was inspired by disco 12" sleeve designs.

  Nightmares on Wax 10th Anniversary T ShirtsI designed 3 t shirts for the legendary musician Nightmares on Wax to celebrate 10 years of his 'Wax Da Jam' parties. The initial brief was to create just one but not being able to decide on a favourite we decided to go with 3.

  Giant Steps MerchandiseI art directed/designed merchandise for the Hackney Wick based boutique audiophile venue GIANT STEPS. Collaborating with illustrator Richard short, I created 2 t shirt designs and one tote bag.
