About me
Hi! My name is Tilly and I'm an animator and illustrator based in London. I love creating with traditional materials and getting my hands dirty. I graduated in summer 2021 with a first class degree in Animation from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, having made three animated short films during my time there. I specialise in under camera techniques such as paint on glass, pastels, or paper cut-out, but I'm also proficient in using digital software. I am highly enthusiastic about all elements of art and animation and have a strong desire to create and learn new things.
Projects
  • Wings For Butterflies
Wings For ButterfliesWings for Butterflies is an animated short film that explores the rich and magical landscape of the redwood forests of California. The peaceful existence of the forest’s occupants is disturbed upon the arrival of a storm of manmade destruction, which threatens to uproot their trees and their way of life. It is up to a tree spirit and her small winged friends to restore the balance of their ecosystem. Screened in competition at Annecy 2022
  • Family Jewels
Family JewelsThree generations worth of family history are discussed around a kitchen table; a collection of animated stories told through the medium of jewellery. A family pour out their jewellery boxes onto their kitchen table, and recount the stories that are entwined with them. From a treasured locket held during the first world war, to a beloved pair of earrings that became a distraction for a naughty baby, 'Family Jewels' follows a family's journey in a unique way, and always overflows with laughter a
  • Mind (FULL)
Mind (FULL)Mind (FULL) is an abstract animated short that embarks upon a journey through a restless mind, treading through moments of increasing chaos until it becomes too much to bear. Animated using under camera techniques and soft pastels and soundtracked with household objects, the film encapsulates a whirring and overwhelming emotion that is eventually eased by a deep breath and a moment of calm. Made in Autumn/Winter 2019 as part of my second year at UCA Farnham. Nominated for Best Micro Short at

Collaborated with a creative team across two different projects in development: I created engaging and emotive digital 2D character animations for the children’s TV show ‘Not Pat’, before moving to the feature film ‘A Book About Her’. Successfully utilised a variety of different animation styles as appropriate, from highly stylized 2D to under camera pastels and paints, often combining two different approaches to make a unique yet cohesive style.
