Coming from Latvia - a country that is often referred to as a "land of the forest" - the issue of deforestation is particularly close to my heart. Tasked with researching and creating an infographic for a Data Visualisation course*, I decided to look at the causes and consequences of deforestation around the world.

The ongoing project was initiated during Foundry Photojournalism Workshop 2014 in Antigua, Guatemala and continued in New York and Marrakesh.
