- Lina & Mae - Brand ConceptThis project was intended as a visual brand identity for start-up fashion label, Lina & Mae. The client sent a brand ethos which was interpreted personally and developed into a visual identity with regards to how the garments should look and where the inspiration should come from.
- Exploring Form & Colour - House of DagmarA self-directed project intended as a concept for Swedish fashion brand, House of Dagmar. The project took it's main inspiration from British design house, Foale & Tuffin and their use of shape and colour. Secondary inspiration came from other fashion designers working in the 60's/70's (same era as Foale & Tuffin) as well as architecture, glassware and contemporary artists/illustrators.
Design Assistant & Sample MakerBordelle Ltd
- London, United KingdomFull Time
This role also involved sewing of structured lingerie and soft seperates for salesman and press samples as well as small batches of stock and made to order/bespoke pieces, all of which use elastics, silk satin, stretch fabrics and lace. The role required the use of specialist industrial machinery including twin-needle lockstitch and 3-step zig-zag. Other tasks included sample measurement checks and keeping track of in-house components used in the sampling process such as zips, underwires etc. and ensuring we have enough stock at all times. As design assistant I assisted the head designer with the designing and product development of each collection from initial research to sampling. I explored ideas through the use of sketching and working on the stand and sewing experimentation. Achievements: I designed a new gold component for AW19 that will be used in future collections indefinitely. The component combines a ring and a slider giving the designers extra freedom for strap placements.
