About me
I would like to apply for the post of producer to create compelling and engaging corporate films that maintain the reputation of of the company.
I am an award winning and highly skilled BBC-trained senior producer/director with extensive television and corporate credits,across a range of programme genres from sports, documentary film making and factuals, to drama and corporate promos. I co-directed the award winning Nike TV commercial – the first foot all boot commercial featuring Ian Wright, which was shot across several countries. This is evidence of my creative flair and film making expertise.
My broadcast experience includes taking ideas from inception all the way through to the finished item. It included writing documentary proposals and conducting research, in addition to pitching ideas and securing new commissions. I am experienced in recruiting, building and managing multimedia teams within major broadcast companies such as BBC TV, ITV, The Discovery Channel and Sky One, as well as smaller independent production houses. During this time, I have hired and worked with a variety of freelance cameramen, editors and graphic designers.
As a seasoned journalist and programme maker, I have filmed in numerous locations around the world covering a range of subject matters, including producing and directing short marketing and corporate films for prestigious clients around the world such as Nike,Ogilvy Mather,Santander, the NHS, and Digicel to name a few.
I have proven expertise in creating and developing productive working relationships with a wide range of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds in the UK and internationally, from senior executives and key decision makers. to grassroots activists, fans or ordinary people embarking on interesting life journeys.
It was a very demanding role, involving extensive global travel and the ability to adapt quickly to working and functioning in different cultural environments and with different languages. Key to the success of the project were my strong forward-planning and persuading/influencing skills , in order to gain access to the clubs as well as my ability to think on your feet in solving problems. As series producer, I had lead responsibility for the safety of crews, contributors, equipment on location.
I possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt and respond appropriately to differing audiences/stakeholders. I have extensive experience of filming and interviewing high profile figures from the world of entertainment to business and sports.
This is combined with sound editorial judgement, project management and problem solving skills as well as solid experience of managing all facets of production and post-production procedures which is critical for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to budget.
I am particularly adept at creating innovative fresh approaches for telling stories, or conveying complex or ‘dry’ messages to diverse audiences in ways which are engaging and easily understood.
I have worked closely with corporate clients to develop creative briefs to influence the design and delivery of corporate or marketing formats that deliver their key strategic aims, to target demographics and audiences.
I have a show reel available with examples of corporate films and broadcast programming that I have produced and directed. I possess a media and communications degree from the University of Westminster in addition to certified BBC training courses in PSC and studio directing.
