Hey,
I’m Tristan.
I recently started my own fashion brand; Porcelain Doll, where I design and create made to order garments, which are vintage and rock n roll inspired.
I have launched them via Etsy and promoting through various social media apps such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
I try to use deadstock and vintage fabrics as much as possible to give the customers a unique, one of a kind piece as well as playing an environmental roll.
Previously, I worked as a studio assistant at The Make Den where I took on admin duties, placed orders, and aided in sample making for upcoming classes. I also taught the PACT Fashion program, where I worked with at risk youth to build their creativity and work on projects that give back to our community.
Before this, I worked as an assistant location manager at Castle Gibson Ltd. in London, England, where I worked with high-end clients such as Burberry, BBC, ITV, Sam McKnight and more. The locations were a base for filming, photography, events and weddings, where I worked to highest standard to ensure every client was comfortable, and the day would run as smoothly as possible. It was an incredible opportunity to be able to learn and get to know the inner workings of all the different types of projects that would come in.
I am constantly trying to grow as an artist and designer, eager to learn new skills and experiment with my practice. I love all aspects of the fashion industry, be it designing, styling, and even fashion films. It’s a beautiful way to be creative and I’m always open to opportunities to push myself to new levels and explore this industry further.
I am fortunate enough to have a Canadian and European Passport, as well as Indefinitely stay in the UK, giving me such a privilege to be able to work in all of these places.
Projects
- Tik TokWhile Covid-19 has taken away the opportunity to be able to work and go about normal daily life tasks, I felt I would use the time to expand my knowledge on Pattern Drafting. Using the method of draping and designing on a Fashion Body Form, I was able to create and alter this dress to fit my exact body measurements. Taking inspiration from this years Met Gala theme, I was able to use fabric I had available in my home from previous projects to create this whimsical dress design
