About me
Hi there! Want to work together? I am open for commissions and collaboration. Please feel free to contact me via email trudy.turner93@gmail.com for enquiries and keep up to date with my work by following me at instagram.com/trudyillo I’m Trudy Turner, an illustrator living in a small village near Stamford in Lincolnshire. I graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a BA in Illustration earlier this year, and was awarded the Deans’ Award for Studentship (hurray!). In my third year of study I became drawn to editorial illustration because of its unlimited potential and the exciting challenges of illustrating the fast paced world around me. Since graduating I have been focusing my attention on becoming an editorial illustrator and honing my practice. I primarily work digitally using Procreate on my iPad for its endless choice of colours and textures, it also allows me to illustrate on the move. I still love working with more traditional materials including pencils, ink and watercolours and I continue to find inspiration in the techniques used in other crafts and styles of creating. I like to depict a wide variety of topics and I enjoy drawing dreamy scenes, illustrating real life and real people with a soft lens. My work is often described as absorbing, playful and authentic.

Turners of Bytham and Tuxford Windmill Logo DesignI was commissioned by Turners of Bytham to create their logo and business cards to go alongside the rebranding of their farm. The logo I designed has since gone on to be printed on produce bags and feature in their emails, on their website and various social media platforms. My strong beliefs of fighting for a more sustainable future feed into my work (see 'Nor-ish' publication) and I am keen to help smaller businesses work towards that goal with positive messages and actions.

I was commissioned to create a logo to coincide with the transformational change of the Turners of Bytham (previously known as Turners of Bytham) farm. The business is transitioning from being a beef farm to plant-based specialist and heritage grain producers. When the project was completed I was commissioned to then 'modernise' their partner company, Tuxford Mill. The mill was using a low quality scanned image of a sketch which would not screen print well onto merchandise. I digitalised the sketch using a variety of skills and techniques I learnt in my last year of university to create a finished logo that looked hand-drawn but could be resized and used with a transparent background.

I was approached to design an ongoing series of posters for the plays put on by the drama society at UEA. I worked to a variety of briefs to create imaginative and enticing posters, which would need to be designed with the included titles, credits, admission fees, location and logos. During this time I designed around 15 posters, which were used for advertising on social media and around the UEA campus.
