About me
I started my career working with galleries by volunteering for the Crafts Council. There, my skills in reading visitors and deciphering their state of mind for a brilliant visiting experience, combined with my attention to detail and readiness for any issues that might come up during a day, led me to become an event assistant volunteer during events at the Crafts Council.
My time at the Crafts Council prepared me to become the 2022 recipient of The Stanley Picker Traineeship at Matt’s Gallery. My duties at the gallery gave me a broad understanding of the responsibilities a gallery assistant might encounter.
Besides my work at Matt's Gallery and the Crafts Council, I have completed work placements for organisations such as the Museum and Archives of Youth Culture, an online organisation specialising in archiving Britain's rich youth culture. There, I mainly worked within the archives, sourcing and archiving images for the museum, inserting metadata into the images on their online platforms and transcribing interviews for the museum's archives.
