I am a producer, evaluation consultant and researcher with a background in cultural policy and over 10 years of experience devising, delivering and evaluating projects in the arts. My research looks at visual arts practices, with a focus on the interplay between cultural production, policy and the economy. My areas of interest also include creative and collaborative research and evaluation methods working with artists, young people and community groups.
My recent piece ‘In Denial’, Artists in the UK Creative Economy: A Focus on Artist-Led Businesses has recently been published as part of the edited volume 'Global Creative Ecosystems' (Palgrave Macmillan) - https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-33961-5.
Recent projects include:
- Evaluating 'What Do We Become' artist development programme at the Barbican Centre https://www.barbican.org.uk/join-support/young-barbican/what-do-we-become.
- Producing 'London Creative Network (LCN)', a £3.8m ERDF (European Regional Development Fund)-funded artist development programme for London-based visual artists, makers and photographers - https://spacestudios.org.uk/artist-support-post/impact-lcn/.
I'm the founder and editor of The Name of the Next Song - www.tnotns.com, an international platform for artists and researchers with a focus on the social, material and political conditions that inform cultural production in contemporary times. The platform features dialogues, writings and visuals, welcoming contributions from many different voices and perspectives.
