About me
They call me - Vicky, I’ve already been in London for five years. The need for creativity brought me all the way to London from Athens, Greece. I recently graduated successfully from University of East London. I completed a full-time degree in Film Studies, including film theory and practice. Cinematography though is my main passion and field of interest; I have worked with a range of different camcorders and DSLR Cameras (videographer). I have also been responsible for creating shot-lists in order to give coherence to our own visual outcome (director). Observing the world through a camera lens is very fascinating, you can construct differently any given reality. It gives you the freedom to manipulate time. Later on, working on the post-production stage, it is the ultimate moment where any story can be shaped. The last four years, I have mainly worked and have been trained to use the Final Cut Pro. I was not only a camera operator, but I had also to deal with the editing process. I am also very keen on structuring and archiving my own or others footage. I have recently written and directed my first short experimental film, and I have successfully been accepted in few film festivals and competitions. Making our thesis film showed me how hard everyone needs to work as a united team, in order to achieve our visual target. We were a crew of seven people working very hard for hours, and all we were trying to complete our role's tasks. I still have to learn a lot and I really want to expand my technical knowledge. I would love to be guided and part of a bigger group. I love to help others and nothing can be compared working within a team, and at the end of the day to have that feeling of success and fulfilment. The runner position is ideal for me at the moment. It could give me a better understanding of how the professional world works. It requires being fast and fast-learner, to multi task and being good in problem solving. The last four years I have worked as waitress in Hospitality industry, which is also a very demanding environment. It taught me discipline and patience to deal with difficult people and working for long hour shifts. I am exceptionally good in coffee-making and as a runner; it could be possibly one of my responsibilities, which I could deal with it easily. Film, TV and Visual Media is a place to be, and I look forward to further my career within this industry. With Kind Regards, Vicky
