Vera Manz studies graphic and media design in her last year at the London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts London. Vera moved from Winterthur, Switzerland to London in 2010. The fast pace and the great diversity of the city fascinates her, and inspires her projects. But the Swiss heritage and the admiration for Swiss graphic design is also visible in her work. Her visual language is minimalistic, simple yet effective. Vera's work often combines photography, traditional printmaking techniques and typography. The subjects she chooses for her projects, are often things that she personally has strong opinions about, like the LGBQT community, feminism and equality movements, as well as the importance of environmentally sustainable design, since she thinks it is vital to use her voice as a graphic designer to point out and criticise current issues in our society.
