About me
My passion for art has taken me abroad, furthering my knowledge of each country I have been lucky enough to visit. To name a few… Italy is where I fell in love with Classical architecture and art where it is perfectly merged with the Renaissance. Whilst traveling Greece, I was inspired by their knowledge of maths and their use of optical illusion especially within the Parthenon. In Berlin I was inspired by the monumental and powerful architecture as well as sensitive history. I have a love of travel, to immerse myself in other cultures as well as enjoying their delicacies. My thirst for knowledge of past civilisations has made me an avid reader and listener.
As a person, I am incredibly driven. I have just completed an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Newcastle University which has challenged me immensely and given me numerous transferable skills… attention to detail, ability to conceptualise and understanding customer needs and wants to name a few. My varying degree allows me to have a different insight, I will bring a completely different thought process and new ideas as well as innovation.
My degree also taught me the importance of self-management and organisation as the workload was incredibly demanding. A key aspect was planning and research, for my concept to have depth I needed to fully understand the site, materials, and competitor landscape. During a lot of the initial phases we worked in groups, this required constant liaising and support to achieve the most profitable outcome. Through these projects I was able to create strong relationships with my peers. I also partook in weekly ‘critiques’ in which I presented my project in front my peers and individuals from the industry. These presentations made me confident in my ability to communicate ideas strongly and coherently.
As an Editorial Intern for Absolutely London a lifestyle, fashion, and beauty magazine, I researched and wrote numerous DPS’s and copy for the September/October Issue as well as publishing many pieces on the website. Whilst researching each piece it was important for me to obtain professional relationships with each source.
Throughout my internship at Miss Jones PA, a Corporate Networking Service, it was imperative that I communicate confidently. For example, during the numerous showcases where I was invited to co-host I met and entertained people from varying industries. I was also regularly required to reach out, create and maintain strong relationships with both the consumers and suppliers. Within the role it was also necessary for me to complete day to day administrative tasks such as booking meetings, customer phone and email requests as well as monitoring event organisation etc. I was given the opportunity to express my creativity when I assisted with both the planning and posting of content on all social media platforms as well as creating the company’s weekly newsletter and event invites.
As both Absolutely and Miss Jones PA’s teams were small, I was given a lot of opportunity and responsibility for the offset. Showcasing my ability to be organised and capability of balancing projects on request. I relished in the chance to gain knowledge and experience quickly, developing an understanding for all aspects of the company. As a result, I am extremely keen to carry on learning and developing present skills as well as new skills.
I would love to be considered for this role and hope that I have proven that I have the relevant skills, knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience to execute this role properly and have a positive impact within your organisation.
