About me
I am a French Designer. I graduated from the University for the Creative Arts in 2006, and worked in London for 2 years, before I decided to move to South Africa in 2008. With my business partner, we set up a successful design practice in Cape Town, which delivered challenging innovative projects for a diverse range of clients, from local NGO to the largest retailer in Africa. I moved back to France in 2012, and have since developped a design practice for projects with an international reach. I am now back in the UK, and looking to expand on my proven design skills. My strengths reside in communicating with a client to grow the brief, and provide effective commercial solutions.

  • Les Notaires - brand identity
Les Notaires - brand identityCommunication agency Des Cheval approached me to design the visual identity for one of their clients, a notary practice based in Tours. Their problematic was to create an identity that was modern, and carried the codes of an architectural practice rather than the traditional notary aesthetic. The new brand would also have to relate directly to their offices location. The design is an echo to the rhythm of the building’s façade, with a Cassandre like approach to typography, resulting in the
  • Wikimania 2016 - brand identity
Wikimania 2016 - brand identityI was commissioned to create the visual identity around Wikimania 2016 , the annual Wikimedia conference, held in June. The 2016 edition took place in the town of Esino Lario, a comune of the Province of Lecco in the Italian region of Lombardy, a short distance from the eastern shore of Lake Como. In ten years of history, Wikimania has always been hosted in major cities: Frankfurt, Boston, Taipei, Alexandria, Buenos Aires, Gdansk, Haifa, Washington DC and Hong Kong. The aim of Wikimania Esino Lario is to bring Wikimania outdoors. It challenges the format of Wikimania and proposes a site-specific event for the wikimedia community: the area around Esino Lario is surrounded by Alpine mountains, and is entirely within the Regional Park of the Northern Grigna. Different from the dispersive nature of a city, Esino Lario offers the Wikimedia community the opportunity to intensify its exchanges and focus. Wikimania Esino Lario is a chance to experience a new way to gather and work together. Wikimania Esino Lario also questions the potential impact the Wikimania conference can have on the territory, and is structured to leave a legacy. My work included the design of the logo for the successful bid, and the design of all the branded material for the 2016 conference.
  • Fontevraud - brand identity
Fontevraud - brand identityI was approached by the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud to implement their newly created brand identity and develop solutions for their different communication materials. Fontevraud is the largest remaining abbey in Europe. Its history spans a thousand years. Founded in 1101, it was a monastery until the French revolution when it became one of the toughest prison in France. It remained so until it was closed in 1963. In 1975, Fontevraud Royal Abbey opened to the public. The site is in continual r
  • Artnaka - brand identity
Artnaka - brand identityArtnaka is a private members platform focused on art from Africa and its diaspora. Elegance, attention to detail and quality of craftmanship, were the prerequisite in designing a brand identity that would hold its own in the art market. The design is a nod to the golden section, with simple use of typography and subtle graphic elements that serve to highlight the company's motto : "For the discerning. For the adventurous". A purity of form which is carried through to the concept card, from
  • L'Alphabet - brand identity
L'Alphabet - brand identityPatrick Derrien, French/English translator approached me to design the visual identity and website for his language consultancy. We worked closely to find a name for his brand and create a visual language that would embody his company’s philosophy: a simple, straightforward, zen-like system, with just enough quirkiness to it. We first produced several idioms which set the tone for the identity. Our choice of dim grey associated with a bight green (color of balance, harmony and growth, but also eccentricity) added to the holistic approach. I subsequently developped a custom typeface, which could be translated into singular visual elements, and produced a series of adverts based on the idioms that we had created. Work includes: Website design, print ad, stationery and collaterals
  • Ezethu - campaign
Ezethu - campaignCommunity Plough Back Movement (CPBM) is a NGO based in the Langa Township of Cape Town, established in 2002 by Professor Nomvula Mtetwa as a means to contribute to the alleviation of hunger, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and crime, and to promote a sense of pride and identity within her community. The organisation’s many programmes encompass school enrichment, a food gardening, an income generating/job creation beading and sewing project, and also oversees a number of HIV/AIDS community interventions. In 2009 I was approached by CPBM, to help raise awareness for their cultural ensemble program, Ezethu (“Ours”) an indigenous choir ensemble that preserves and promotes Xhosa culture by celebrating traditional music. The Ezethu musical is a breathtaking stage adaptation the life of the AmaXhosa, tailored in traditional dress and song, performed by an intergenerational cast coming from the townships of Gugulethu and Langa. The Ensemble performed 3 consecutive nights at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town during the 2010 world cup. Guests in attendance included Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Queen Sofía of Spain. We created a series of visuals for the group's promotion, and produced a DVD of their performance at the Cape Town Artscape Theatre.
