I am a Design & Marketing Manager at the Brick Development Association. My role is to ensure clay brick and pavers are recognised as the material of choice by architects, engineers, planners, specifiers, developers, landscapers, builders and property owners by producing the industry's national advertising, campaign in the UK. I am also the founder of the creative behavioural change social enterprise; 'Wakeup Campaign'. Wakeup Campaign Designers Group is a social business that fuses business and design to create and stimulate change within local communities, companies and individuals. I stem from a fine art background, later on i went into graphic design, branding and marketing, working for influential design and entertainment companies in London. I have won various awards such as: O2thinkbig, Unltd, Future Leader from Powerful Media, Future Talent from Striding Out and has recently been appointed to represent the youth around the UK as the ambassador for o2’s think big blueprint sustainability panel. I have a passion for sustainability and social change. I believe we can change the world through the power of design. I really believe in the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson; ‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us’, everything around you is created from mans vision’s and dreams, so now we need to WAKEUP and dream of a better future.
The Brick Development Association represents the United Kingdom and Ireland’s clay brick and paver industries (natural sustainable material). My role is to ensure clay brick and pavers are recognised as the material of choice by architects, engineers, planners, specifiers, developers, landscapers, builders and property owners by: • Working with our members and the board from the whole of the Brick industry in the UK & Ireland • Planning, co-ordinating and art directing the Brick Awards (One of the biggest award ceremonies in the architecture world) • Producing PR for a variety of mediums • Developing marketing plans • Creating Marketing strategies and analysis • Developing visual adverts for various magazines and journals • Up keeping the tone of voice via various social media platforms • Developing the BDA website • Executive editor for the Brick Bulletin • Producing seminars and lectures • Designing/art-working print advertisements • Going to site visits around the UK & Ireland
The Blueprint focuses on the three areas where Telefónica UK believes it can make the most difference – supporting young people, helping its customers make sustainable choices and reducing its own impacts. The Panel will focus specifically on Telefónica UK’s three strategic priorities: • Supporting young people • Helping customers to make sustainable choices • Reducing its own impacts My role will be to represent and advise the panel on behalf of the whole of the UK youth.
The RSA is working in partnership with The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) to help young entrepreneurs explore enterprise and to encourage and enable them to start up and sustain their own business. As the founder of Wakeup Campaign, I have been asked to take part in various workshops at the RSA involving over 60 young entrepreneurs and business support organisations, the aim is to understand the opportunities and challenges that today's entrepreneurs face, and to identify what resources and capabilities they need to thrive.
I currently lecture MA/exchange students in the ICCE department on business enterprise, by showcasing my personal story on developing and building a sustainable consultancy. I tell my story by using various engaging toolkits and other mediums to stimulate social change.
Wakeup Campaign is a creative behavioural change social enterprise that produces campaigns and innovative design work to help tackle difficult social situations to encourage sustainability. We consult with FITSE 100 companies, other social enterprises, the public sector and communities in the UK and abroad.
I work in the marketing department at a fragrance house.
