Waseem Mirza is an award winning TV Presenter (formerly BBC News) and trained actor and voice artist. As an actor, 2022 sees his debut in a Warner Bros. Television drama based on a popular superhero origin story, commissioned by HBO. The international drama series is set to air in 2022 across broadcast and SVOD networks. 2023 will see him debut in a US commissioned British crime drama for AMC Networks International.
In 2020 during the height of the pandemic, he played Dr Hamid in a new film about end of life care, distributed from May 2021 by BBC Co-Production partner - The Open University. The film, directed by Award-winning British Director/Cinematographer, Haider Zafar, garnered two wins at the Crownwood International Film Festival for Best Director and Best Supporting Actor (Male).
Waseem has a broadcast quality home studio for voice over projects, lending his voice for everything from TV Continuity.. to video games for an acclaimed audio production studio, as well as a host of education and E-Learning platforms worldwide.
As a Television Presenter / Anchor, he has expert knowledge on new technology and innovation, gained through making short news films (often as a self-shoot/edit Producer/P.D, Filmmaker and on-screen talent) for the BBC. Films include the world's first 3D-printed edible raspberry, the fully electric plane powered only by a battery and the search for extra terrestrial intelligence from a back garden in Cambridge, England. He has worked on a range of programmes from the BBC's flagship consumer technology and lifestyle show: "Click" where he forecasted the rise of the "internet of things", to BBC World News .. and as "Dr Mistry" in the daytime BBC drama: "Doctors" - his debut acting role whilst still a student.
