About me

I design digital products with measurable value, by applying design thinking methodologies. I love taking complex problems and creating simple, intuitive solutions by uncovering user needs and balancing these with business objectives. With seven years of experience in product design and strategy, I seek roles that will allow me to shape the products I work on as well as the teams, processes and cultures that create them. My personal toolkit includes: product strategy, user research & testing, and product design.

Lead User Experience Designer

Beyond

Jul 2016
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Full Time
  • I lead multiple projects concurrently, across a range of clients and new business opportunities. Collaborating with researchers, strategists, designers and developers to deliver award winning user experiences that are grounded and directly mapped to both business and user requirements. I am involved in the setup and planning of multi-phase projects, including planning detailed discovery & definition phases with complex research activities and multiple steak-holders. I create UX & product strategies that are grounded in research and data. Working closely with internal teams as well as with research provided by clients or 3rd parties. I create and deliver presentations to high level stakeholders and C-level client teams as well as facilitating workshops and co-creation sessions with participants from a range of backgrounds. I lead multi-disciplinary teams to create rich prototypes using a variety of rapid-prototyping tools and approaches. I am comfortable sketching, using whiteboards, paper prototyping, creating low & high fidelity static prototypes as well as polished interactive prototypes that look & behave like a finished product. I work closely with other members of the UX and Design team and have been responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring UX Designers. I work closely with collaborative teams, mentoring and sharing my skills with junior members of the team or those who want to learn. I am also learning from everyone around me, always.

2014

Principle UX Designer

Delete

Nov 2013 - Nov 2014
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Full Time
  • I was the sole UX designer at Delete’s London studio. I led £500k+ product strategy & product design projects from inception to delivery for Delete’s major clients; Unibet, Carluccio's & Leeds Beckett University. I led the agency’s response to several key new business opportunities, many of which were notable successes for the agency.

2013

Digital Designer

Tribal Worldwide London

Apr 2012 - Nov 2013
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Full Time
  • Although part of the interactive design team, my skillset spans the three separate (traditional agency model) departments of creative, UX and design and I have lead a number of significant projects through all of these stages. Working on the creative idea, concept development, UX, design, user research / testing and final production.. I regularly present creative work to clients and stakeholders and am very confident presenting complex strategic and creative work. I am the lead designer on the agency’s largest client- Volkswagen and have also had significant involvement on projects for Guinness, o2, Esso and Captain Morgan as well as contributing to a number of demanding pitches with time and budget constraints. I have worked on briefs for web, mobile, apps and interactive digital experiences for Dublin’s biggest tourist attraction (The Guinness Storehouse). I have worked independently on a brief from idea generation right through to final build and delivery and my work was critical in securing £250k funding for the project.
