About me
I am an artist, writer and performance artist, recently exhibiting at Tate Britain in Women in Revolt! and at the Barbican in Re/Sisters. I founded the Neo Naturist performance art group in 1980 with Christine and Jennifer Binnie and Grayson Perry. We have performed at venues including the Royal opera House and Globe Theatre. We held a retrospective at Studio Voltaire and were recently featured in Women in Revolt! at Tate BritainGalleries of Scotland and Re/Sisters at the Barbican. I have exhibited my paintings numerous solo and group shows over the last forty years in UK, France, Greece and Mexico. Group shows include Tate Britain, Studio Voltaire, Royal Academy Summer Show and Musée de Guéthary. My first book Surf Mama was published in hardback in 2011 by Beautiful Books, in paperback in 2014 by Summersdale and in French by Editions Cairn in 2016. My films have been shown at venues including Tate Liverpool, BFI and MOMA in New York. In addition to this I have wide experience in public speaking, lecturing and panel discussions and have appeared on TV and radio in the UK and France. I enjoy collaborating with other artists and experimenting with different disciplines have worked with artists including Andrew Logan, Derek Jarman, Michael Clark Dance Company, Grayson Perry, and Leigh Bowery .
