Hi. My name is Robert and I am a PHP and JavaScript programmer and web developer. I am also the owner of an online vinyl record store called Winyle Online.
My adventure with programming began in the late 1980s, when I got my first computer - a Commodore 64. I tried to create programs and games in BASIC on my own, using only one book with documentation. I remember this period very well.
In the 1990s I learned Pascal and C. After 2000, I became seriously interested in programming and web development. I fell in love with the PHP language and have been working mainly in it ever since. While learning PHP, I also became well acquainted with JavaScript (there were no frameworks back then) and MySQL. I remember the times when the creation of pages differed depending on the browser used and had to be customized separately for each browser. Those were difficult times.
One of my earliest projects is a music collection browser, which I've been building since 2000. The application was written in PHP and fully in pure JavaScript, and uses the HTML Application (HTA) program, which is still available on Windows 10. In the process of generating the appearance, I didn't use HTML files at all (except for index.php, which is used to load .js files). The entire interface is generated using JavaScript. To this day, the code, written between 2003 and 2005 in pure JavaScript, works without any problems and does not need any tweaks.
The idea came about with the development of XMLHttpRequest technology in browsers. Previously, it was available in Internet Explorer as an ActiveX object. I used the explorer.exe look from Windows XP as a GUI and tried to implement similar functions in JavaScript, such as selecting files and folders with the mouse and keyboard and double-clicking to enter a directory or open a file.
You can see the early stage of development of this project in a video available on YouTube at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w2P0-NWRmU
Since the video, the application has gained many new features.
Later, I created several other services, including a celebrity growth information portal that contained data on thousands of artists. My goal was to fill Google's information gap on celebrity growth. However, over time, I noticed that direct answers to queries about celebrity growth began to appear in search results. For this reason, there was no point in continuing to develop this project. You can find an archived version of this portal at: http://web.archive.org/web/20130805065347/http://wzrostgwiazd.info/
Then began my professional career, which continues to this day. While working for SEO companies, I wrote many SEO tools. These included an advanced system for adding entries to directories, classifieds and online forums, order management panels and monitoring Google positions.
My latest major project is an online store called Winyle Online. The store features brand-new, still-boxed, and used gramophone records, as well as compact discs and cassette tapes. I have been a record collector for over twenty years. Many of the records I first owned have already been sold, but you can still find some of them in our assortment. They are in really excellent condition, almost perfect.
I built the store on my own, using my knowledge of programming. With the introduction of "web vitals" requirements in 2021, I optimized the script to always score above 90 on mobile devices. Few online stores in Poland can boast such a score, even a year after Google introduced these guidelines as a ranking factor.
