About me

EDITOR, CREATIVE DIRECTOR, FREELANCE WRITER COOL BROTHER I’m the founding editor of Cool Brother – a self-produced publication on music, style, photography and illustration, with a quarterly print run of 5,000 distributed to 180 London outlets, written and curated by me. VICE I am the marketing manager for The Old Blue Last and Sebright Arms, two unique music venues owned and managed by Vice. Here, I am responsible for the creative direction and execution of engaging media strategies to boost attendance and engagement, as well as building longterm relevance within London’s underground music scene. OTHER WRITING I brought an eagle editorial eye when writing for NME, HERO, FOXES. Days have flown by while at TCO, working as a freelance creative on Adidas, Size? and Halifax briefs – and I have adored internships with CHI & Parters (NYC), August Media, UNCUT

    • CURRENT ROLE Working with around 65 people per issue (contributors, advertisers, publicists, artists and more) demonstrating leadership and level-headedness Applying an eagle editorial eye to writing and design Pitching, organising, sourcing, conducting and editing interviews with artists including Gorillaz and iconic Sixties photographers like Terry O’Neill and Baron Wolman Single-handedly styling, organising and directing CB’s Style Notes photoshoots Scouting up-and-coming artists, illustrators and photographers Keeping CB website and social channels up to date Managing advertising, events and partnerships (CB is funded entirely by advertising) with Celine, Fred Perry, Noah, Folk, Bestival and other like-minded brands -- COOL BROTHER ACCOLADES CB is distributed in over 180 carefully selected stockists, including Lazy Oaf, Goodhood, Photographers’ Gallery, Rough Trade and Shoreditch House Hedi Slimane (the new artistic director of Celine) personally requested that Celine advertise in CB After just two issues of CB, I was invited to join long-time BEAT editor Hanna Hanra on a panel for Stack’s event, Making Music Magazines Since CB’s SS18 inception, an increasing number of creative brands have pitched collaborative projects. This includes The Great Escape offering a CB stage for their 2019 festival, Noah founder (ex-creative director of Supreme) asking me to create a zine for his high fashion streetwear brand and many music promotion companies inviting me to co-pro shows at The Shacklewell Arms and Vice-owned Old Blue Last venues I have been interviewed by HERO, Clash and Wix. I also did a 24-hour Instagram takeover on Wix’s Instagram – and Stack, MagCulture and It’s Nice That have written about what we’re doing

    • Completed a week’s work experience at Kerrang!. At end of week, editor James McMahon asked to see my writing. His verdict? “Yeah – it’s brilliant. There’s personality in there – loads of it, and I think that’s the one thing you can’t really teach.” James gave me a job on the spot. Staff writers commented on how they’d never seen this happen before. By my second published piece for the magazine, I’d been added to the Kerrang! masthead
