About me
I'm a Palestinian/Jordanian Fashion Design graduate from the University of Brighton. I was born in the United States, lived the entirety of my school years in Amman, Jordan, which then led me to pursue my degree in Fashion Design with Business Studies in Brighton. As a child I was surrounded by creatives in my family who inspired me to follow my dreams of being a designer. I developed my talents into useful technical skills which have helped me excel throughout my studies and discover my own design identity. Some of the characteristics which define my style include the focus on intricate details and minimal design aesthetics. Throughout my journey, I was given the opportunity to intern at a local Jordanian atelier that designed women's evening wear. I gained a vast amount of knowledge about the construction of gowns, the art of appliqué embroidery and the overall experience of working in industry.

The Threads of IdentityMy final collection: The Threads of Identity, reconceptualized my Palestinian customs by clashing Middle Eastern's modest, hand embroidered fashion with silhouettes and textiles inspired by Studio 54 from the 70's Disco era. My aim was to merge Western culture with my Middle Eastern origins to form a more well-rounded Global culture. The collection explores fluidity and drape through metallic liquid jersey while also creating contrast with exaggerated shoulders and defined waistlines. In additio

Gained an understanding of draping on the stand and translating a draped garment into flat patterns. Engaged in client design meetings, consultations and fittings throughout the design process. Attended to supplier visits, local fabric sourcing and choosing final fabrics for garments. Learned how to extract elements from pre-embroidered fabrics, in addition to learning appliqué technique. Achieved great insight on how a Jordanian Couturier manages a stable business by working one on one with the designer and seamstress in the studio.
