Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Yi Ann Chen developed her passion for fashion and conceptual photography, while studying for a BA in fashion styling and design communication. She got her first camera when she worked on a documentary project, from then on photography gradually became the method to present her visual works. After graduating, she further pursued her studies in the field at the University of the Arts London, LCC.
During the year she studied in London, Yi Ann fell in love with the city and living abroad. She also started solo travelling and grew an interest in travel photography.
Yi Ann lived two years in London and one year in Dublin afterwards. She currently resides in her home country, Taiwan.
