In 2016 with support from the British Council the musical was presented as a Flash-Mob inspired performance at the Lagos Theatre Festival in Nigeria. Oliva Tweest was then selected for BEAM (UKs leading showcase for new musicals). The Musical was picked up by the Barbican Arts Centre and presented as a work-in-progress industry sharing to promote this fresh and innovative take on British musical theatre. Yinka said: “It’s a dream come true for me to see the show going on tour. We have been given so much support and encouragement to get to this point.” Responsibilities: • Raising over £120,000 by applying for public funding and pitching to private investors – I have a 100% success rate with Arts Council England’s GFTA. • Negotiating contracts with venues, agents and production team – I produced a sold-out show of Oliva Tweest: An Afrobeats Musical at the West End’s Lyric Theatre, starring Eddie Kadi, A dot Comedian and Dorcas Shola Fapson (MTV Shuga). • Designing and facilitating drama workshops – I have created and delivered drama workshops, centred around creative and professional development for young people seeking a career in the arts. • Developing detailed and creative, audience development and marketing plans – For Oliva Tweest, we achieved an audience consisting of 80% BAME, 75% under 30 years of age, and 67% none-theatre- goers.
