About me

I am an award-winning executive producer, who has eight years of experience, developing, producing and managing mid to large scale entertainment, for new & existing audiences. I am a confident project manager skilled at; fundraising, budgeting, recruiting, strategising and leadership. I am currently line managing SMART Entertainment (General Managers); working with them on strategies to produce Oliva Tweest – The AfroMusical in the West End, Broadway and internationally. Oliva Tweest – The AfroMusical is the world’s first Afrobeats musical. It uses original Afrobeats music, existing smash hits, contemporary Afrobeats choreography and vocal arrangements to provide a modern spin on Dickens’ ‘Oliver Twist’, set in London’s African community. I'm looking for a suitable role with an established artist or company, where I can support them as an executive producer.

          • The idea for the show was conceived by presenter-producer Yinka Ayinde, (PureYinkz) six years ago. His debut version of the show sold-out at the West End’s Lyric Theatre to a notably new audience, the majority of whom had never been to the theatre before. Following its success, the musical received Arts Council England (ACE) funding for a short run at Hackney Empire in September 2014, which led to further funding support from ACE and Stage One for an industry workshop presentation at St James Theatre in May 2015. In 2016 with support from the British Council the musical was presented as a Flash-Mob inspired performance at the Lagos Theatre Festival in Nigeria. Oliva Tweest was then selected for BEAM (UKs leading showcase for new musicals). The Musical was picked up by the Barbican Arts Centre and presented as a work-in-progress industry sharing to promote this fresh and innovative take on British musical theatre. Yinka said: “It’s a dream come true for me to see the show going on tour. We have been given so much support and encouragement to get to this point.” Responsibilities: • Raising over £120,000 by applying for public funding and pitching to private investors – I have a 100% success rate with Arts Council England’s GFTA.
 • Negotiating contracts with venues, agents and production team – I produced a sold-out show of Oliva Tweest: An Afrobeats Musical at the West End’s Lyric Theatre, starring Eddie Kadi, A dot Comedian and Dorcas Shola Fapson (MTV Shuga).
 • Designing and facilitating drama workshops – I have created and delivered drama workshops, centred around creative and professional development for young people seeking a career in the arts. • Developing detailed and creative, audience development and marketing plans – For Oliva Tweest, we achieved an audience consisting of 80% BAME, 75% under 30 years of age, and 67% none-theatre- goers.
