About me
I am Yosuke Ushigome, creative technologist based in London. I create future visions, build proof-of-concept prototypes and design new interactions. I currently work at Takram, a design innovation firm based in Tokyo, London and New York as one of the directors. Driven by both love and concern in emerging technologies and their influence on us, my interaction design practice tends to straddle multiple stages of product development; from concept through prototyping to real-world deployment. By doing so, I facilitate in-depth understanding of the implication of emerging technologies and encourage better-informed decision-making on our future.

Zensei - Making tangible the experience of an MIT Media Lab's new touch sensing technologyWe collaborated with MIT's Camera Culture Group to design and develop their embedded, multi-electrode bioimpedance sensing technology Zensei. Zensei enables physical objects to identify users by sensing the body’s electrical properties and touch/grasping behaviour through electrical frequency response sensing. It allows almost any object to be capable of user recognition. For example, a phone that unlocks as it is picked up. The sensor hardware is small in size and works by sensing the electric

TOYOTA's new MaaS ConceptWe supported TOYOTA in creating the concept movie of "e-Palette Concept" that they announced at CES in January 2018. In this concept movie, e-Palette, a future mobility service platform, was explained using several future scenarios. https://www.takram.com/projects/toyota-e-palette-concept/

LEDIX - Web visualisation of Japan’s local economiesWe created LEDIX, an interactive website that visualises ‘The Driving Company for the regional future’ chosen by The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2017. ‘The Driving Company for the regional future’ are growing companies that are expected to play a large role in their region’s economy and value chain. We used our own data visualisation framework, Planck, in an attempt of expressing how this might happen through visualizing their businesses with corporates inside and outside their r
