Hi! I'm a Cultural and Critical Studies MA student at University of Westminster, London. I like photography, art, films and literature! Craving for new experience, I have been to many countries including France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Germany, etc. I like traveling and learning new things! I'm a quick learner and I have confidence in doing it well! I am currently looking for a work placement in cultural institution as personal interest, as well as part of the course.
Assisted the shop managers with day-to-day duties, including categorizing, shelving, arranging books and CDs, carrying out stock control, managing the display, pricing, etc. Organisational skills and planning ability are acquired. ?Integrated well to the diverse community and learnt new things quickly and correctly. For example, learning POS terminals and gift aid. ?Gained team working skills by working with colleges in the shop. ?Demonstrate effective communication skills and good customer service skills by serving customers and answering enquiries. ?Work at a regular shift and trained to work under pressure by coordinating with studies. Still motivated at the end of the work duration. ?Adapt to change and work flexibly.
Relevant modules: Exhibiting Photography, Visual Culture, Urban Cultures, Knowledge, Cultural Memory, Archives and Research, Capitalism and Culture, Special Author and French. ?A semester’s study on examining problems and divergent perspectives in cultural studies, dialectical and critical thinking skills are built. Arouse an intense interest in photography subsequent to actual visits of galleries and curators’ talks during exhibiting photography module.
?Achieved a second-class honour. Relevant Modules: History of economic thoughts, French, Marketing, Operation Management. Second year Spark Program included a group presentation and pitch at the Deloitte Bristol in September 2013 in which our innovative business idea is conveyed. Achieved a special award of £100. The program is an inspiring innovative idea kicking out program, notably team working, communication, creative thinking skills and ability to use personal initiative are built.
