I am a young, passionate creative based in London with an all-rounder attitude. I keep an open mind to new projects and am willing to dive headfirst into new creative opportunities. No stranger to hard work, I am willing to put both the effort and the hours into exciting projects. Always eager to please, I am very easy to get along with and try my best to put my colleagues needs before my own, particularly when working on a team project or in a managing position. I am hungry to learn and so pick up new skills very quickly, I have dabbled in many fields from design to videography and now I am looking for something that I can really settle into and become a master at.

I have worked through several departments as a trainee during my time at Direct Eastern, starting with alterations to customer & sample wedding dresses. I then moved into road-sales for a short time, taking out 2 of the companies 9 collections to bridal boutiques across the UK with another sales rep to learn how to hand the customer environment. I was also involved in trade shows and exhibitions during this time, helping set up stands and assisting with sales. I then moved into the marketing department to help develop a database of all current and potential stockists in the UK, making use of google maps to pin locations and deduce exclusivity zones for each stockist, and Excell to input all relevant information. From this I developed research into competitor brands including stockist information and pricing. After helping the marketing team I was placed as assistant to the designer of a new collection. I have been working closely with the designer since then to launch said collection, contributing design ideas, technical information, sketching, creating templates for production information, sourcing and ordering fabrics, overseeing the process of pattern cutting & toileing, communicating with factory r.e sample production and contributing ideas towards the marketing and advertising of the label. Once the collection has launched at the end of January 2018, I will have overseen the collection from beginning to end.

Working directly with the designer as the only member of staff in this tiny team, I was able to get involved in all aspects of the company for the short time that I was there. I mainly worked in the social media aspect of the brand, creating and editing content, creating posting schedules, conducting research into other brands and working with the designer to create a marketing campaign for the collection I worked on. I also assisted with sketching, pattern cutting and sewing.

As one of the worlds most prestigious courses, I was incredibly grateful just to be accepted on to this course. Four years of intensive work and hard labour later, I have developed my skills in Research, Design, Illustration and Construction to a professional level. In my third year I decided to take a focus on tailoring and create a collection of tailored shirts, jackets and trousers for women, using vintage menswear garments as reference points for construction. My final collection was more successful than I could have dreamed and I achieved an A for this project, balancing my overall degree to an upper second class.
