Having completed my degree in English Literature, I am keen to further my interest in the importance of the arts, culture and heritage in society and seek employment in a creative industry.
In my role as a waitress and bartender on a seasonal luxury river cruiser and popular tourist attraction and event venue, I have gained a diverse range of skills and responsibilities in hospitality and customer service, through managing a bar, cash handling, boat safety and knowledge of the Norfolk Broads National Park. By Interacting with a wide range of customers and cooperating well with my colleagues, I have expanded my interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and manage new situations in a niche environment.
In my role at The Tab at the University of Sheffield I produced online articles for a global university news network lead by students. Article titles included: ‘Best places to go for coffee in Sheffield’ and further articles specialized in broadcasting Sheffield’s independent cultural scene. Writing for The Tab allowed me to successfully research and construct informative and entertaining news articles that were read and shared by thousands of students and gave me experience in working to strict alongside my fulltime academic studies.
