Self-publisher of CHIMPAN zine, graphic designer and screen-printer. I’m an interdisciplinary thinker, who loves working on any project from editorial design, to hand-crafted zines and hands-on campaigns.
I thrive mostly in creative and experimental roles that involve graphic and editorial design, printmaking, art direction, signage and advertising.
When I’m not designing nor working on the zine, I dive into the newly found world of animation and illustration. Learning new skills can be very enjoyable and I confess, entertaining.
Last note: I'm a foodie.

- CHIMPAN zineFriends back home kept asking me “Zé, you never post anything online. What have you been doing? How are we supposed to know?” I’ve created CHIMPAN zine as a [printed] way to keep in touch. A zine that would showcase what I’ve been up to and who have I been with. From inspiration, interviews and even a guest illustrator, CHIMPAN thrives on a sense of creative community. Plus, this project is led by my love of design magazines and screen printing. Putting these two together, I’ve decided to scre
- Bastard Crisis Mobile ExhibitionThe group project Crise Bastarda (Bastard Crisis) presents itself as an alert to a crisis of values in Europe. A reflection and a dialogue are encouraged through exhibit moments. The goal of this project is to leave the spectator not only better informed, but also restless and alert to the subject at hand. The European Ideal’s development is based in humanist ideals, in moral valorization and in mankind. Values that take the form of ideological columns of the European institutions, written in th
- byAGIL BrandingbyAGIL is not only an architecture atelier, but also an artistic one. Need a personalised tile panel to decorate your company’s office? I haven’t found anyone more passionate about modules, patterns, graphic chaos and order. Most noteworthy, artist that he is, I took the head-of-the-atelier’s signature and mixed it up with some architectural elements for the logo. Notice there are no walls surrounding it? This atelier is out of the box cool! Check it out at www.byagil.pt
- Nexu MagazineThe magazine Nexu – latin for connection – has its concept precisely in relating either people or entities with several perceptions on a specific subject. Which, in selected but very different voices, is discussed in each number, having design as its mediator. In this number we present the Grid as the main subject. First with a historic introduction by J. H. Whilliamson, Richard Hollis and Phillip Meggs. Being the reader aware of such notions, the dialog begins, having Joseph Muller-Brockmann a
- Comer Para Saber (Eat to Know) BookIn a Matrix reality it’s possible to overrule the usual learning process. It’s connecting a cable to a headjack in the back of the head and zooooop! The subject is instantly a master of a martial art he had never even heard about before. Makes me jealous. It’s in this context of the instantaneous that emerges this consumable knowledge, intangible idea so far. What if there was the possibility of eating a book? Yet still acquiring all its content’s knowledge. I projected specifically that in thi
