- Modern Magic Masks for Yinka Shonibare for Sketch RestaurantLast year I spent several months drawing, clay modelling and carving masks for the Modern Magic installation at Sketch Restaurant for Yinka Shonibare Studio. • Practice overview - I have developed and produced a collection of wood carved art work which I have exhibited nationally and internationally. I as well as working on collaborations and commissions for international artists and galleries.
• Project Management - I have managed a range of commissions in which I consider design, concept, timescale, budget management, margin, target audience, function and sustainability.
• Process – There are multiple stages in the carving process; drawing, clay modelling, wood machining, carving, finishing and casting.
• Quality control – I have a deep understanding of the exceptional quality of luxury crafted products and I have developed a critical eye for detail. My awareness of the need for sustainable products drives me to reach a high level of craftsmanship in order to create long lasting pieces.
• Client management - Through working on commissions I have become experienced in client management; I ensure that the client has clarity on the design and making process by scheduling design meetings and communicating dates of deliverables.
