About me

Zhigang Zhang is an illustrator from China and now based in London, UK. He mainly provides editorial illustrations for Magazines and Newspapers. He likes to capture the moments and narratives occurring around him as he is most interested in real life. His work is full of life and every character is real around his life. Hand-drawn observational images are combined with the digital in depicting charachters, humans, landscapes, architecture, animals, food and humans, both individually and in crowds. He is interested in editorial, book cover, advertising, package design, portrait, animal, and food illustration etc.

  MalatangMalatang is a popular food in China and I go to eat it once every Sunday night. However, I have been observing their expression since I went to this restaurant for a long time. I would like to explore real characters around me, their behavior, feelings, emotion, tastes, etc. I did a series of food illustrations to capture their most emotional moment.
• King`s Cross StationI was trying to use my own world to depict people I saw at King`s Cross Station.
• My perspective on the trainA series of pieces I was exploring human beings while I was on the train in England, I would like to use my unique observation and perception to depict people around me. I have been experimenting with the composition, figure, and space in my portfolio.
