I'm a writer and editor from New York, currently living in Berlin. I contribute to a wide selection of print and online publications including Artsy, HighSnobiety, AnOther, photograph, Core77, Disegno, and more. I also create content for forward-thinking brands including Milk Studios, General Assembly, and the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. I've gained experience in editorial strategy, curatorial research, and filmmaking during my time working at Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence, Italy, then at Gagosian Gallery and the Art Directors Club in New York. With one foot planted in film and the other in art & design, I went on the lead the marketing department of Filmmaker Magazine (published by the Independent Filmmaker Project) and complete a writing fellowship at media startup Architizer. I write copy for the school's newsletter, magazine, and social media channels.
I managed relationships with new and returning advertisers, collaborate with festival partners, lead magazine staff meetings, and conduct all outreach on behalf of print & digital magazine. As part of the independent film nonprofit IFP, I participated in curating film projects and reading scripts for IFP programs including Independent Film Week, the Phosphate Prize, and the Independent Filmmaker Labs.
I curated and editorialized three collection-style articles per week, based on aesthetic, historic, or geographic themes.
I produced short documentary series InspirADCion, featuring creative icons Lee Clow, Ivan Chermayeff and Clive Wilkinson. As producer, I oversaw all creation, curation, and publicizing of content promoting for the series. I also wrote the press release and created all social media materials. I also curated ADC Walks, an open house and presentation event for design studios. Researched and selected all partnering businesses and managed relationships with founders.
In support of gallery sales, I developed a database allowing salespeople to match available art with client taste & requirements. I assembled and analyzed market research used by a Senior Director in support of negotiations for an exhibition of the artist Ed Ruscha’s prints & photographs.
I assisted curators in cataloguing images from the museum’s permanent collection. I organized press materials, researched relevant media outlets, and maintained checklists for upcoming exhibitions.
I assisted in the press office and helped organize materials at New York's largest privately-owned art library. I archived press clippings and correspondence with collectors, exhibition reviews, and press releases dating back to the early 19th century.
As part of the marketing and development team of a nonprofit supporting emerging artists, I researched funding opportunities, maintain correspondence with board members, helped organize exhibitions. I compeleted grant reports to major art foundations, including the Jerome Foundation and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
I graduated with Comprehensive Honors with a double degree in Art History and Italian Language & Literature, and a Certificate in European Studies.
I spent the academic year 2011-12 studying at the Università di Bologna, where I completed all courses and exams in Italian.
Awarded to to 26 top students (out of a class of 6,000+), Comprehensive Honors denotes excellence across the liberal arts as well as my chosen course of study.
I was awarded $2,000 grant to support a five month internship at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
I was awarded a grant to spend a summer researching the history of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the emergence of the city's art scene.
