I’m Zoe, an intrepid, resourceful, inquisitive, critical thinking UX Designer. My background is in social research and anthropology and I have spent time working as an English teacher, a research analyst, and a project coordinator. I have always been curious about people, leading me to study several languages, travel extensively, and live and work abroad.
About a year ago I discovered the field of User Experience Design, which brings together my fascination with why people do what they do, my interest in the ways technology can positively (and inevitably negatively) impact our lives, and a drive to create meaningful solutions to problems of all scopes and sizes.
I’ve just completed the inaugural 24-week UX Design course at Flatiron School, and I’m eager to continue to learn and develop in a challenging, diverse and supportive environment. I’m looking to work in a larger design team, and I’m open to both in-house and agency work.
Music I hum along to: the olllam; Hozier; David Bowie; Waitress the Musical; Jamie Woon
Books I’m halfway through reading: Reaper Man; How the World Thinks; Catch 22; How to be a Woman
Food I’m day-dreaming about: Cantonese Duck Rice; Pumpkin tagine; Moussaka; Baklava
Next destinations on my list: Basel, CH; Boston, MA; Reykjavik, IS

Social AnthropologyUniversity of Kent
- United Kingdom
On this challenging and highly respected program, I gained an understanding of both biological and social/cultural anthropology. Notable modules addressed: research methodology; global human diversity; race and identity; cross cultural comparison, analysis and relations; conflict; and business and economics. I attained a first for my dissertation, drawn from my own ethnographic fieldwork and theoretical research, examining the place and functions of the market in Provençal society and social mythology. I have also reached fluency in French through this course and my ERASMUS year abroad at Aix-Marseille University in Provence, France.
