DIGITAL DRESSING: HOW VIRTUAL CLOTHING IS CHANGING FASHION AS WE KNOW ITFor the first time ever, fashion is posed with a problem – with no one going out, clothing has shuffled to the back of the wardrobe, relegated until the lockdown is lifted. This has made the industry pause, with fashion companies busy making emergency relief gowns for hospitals instead of pushing out their next collections. Designers and consumers have noticed and are calling for a change in how fashion is produced – namely, what if we didn’t even need to wear physical fashion at all?
  • DANIELA BENAIM: “THERE IS NO SINGLE DEFINITION OF HOME”
DANIELA BENAIM: “THERE IS NO SINGLE DEFINITION OF HOME”Creative director and stylist Daniela Benaim moved to London in 2018 to join CSM’s MA Fashion Image course. Having left behind family and friends in Venezuela, the concept of home weighed heavily on her mind, so much so that she dedicated her final project to exploring its complexities. ‘La Casa’ is a series of seven publications, connecting the dots between the home, the body, and the self: Body as Home, Home as a Metaphor of the Mind, Home as an Extension of the Self, Home as Prison, Home in t

ZILLE-E-HUMA MAQBOOL PRESENTS PAKISTANI EMBELLISHMENTS ON AMERICANA SILHOUETTESZille-e-Huma Maqbool grew up in a small village in Pakistan, before moving to the bustling New York metropolis to enroll in the MFA Fashion Design & Society course at Parsons. She presented her graduate collection – a juxtaposition of these two worlds – as part of the Parsons MFA’s eighth-generation in 2019. The collection was a celebration of Americana and Pakistani craft, featuring tiny gingham hot pants, thigh-high boots, white biker jackets splashed with diamanté dogtooth and cross-stitched

  • JOSEPHINE SIDHU: POST- GRADUATION GROWING PAINS
JOSEPHINE SIDHU: POST- GRADUATION GROWING PAINSSince graduating from the BA Fashion (Menswear) course at CSM in June, Josephine Sidhu has been holed up at home, trying to figure out her future. Outside of the art school bubble, she has been questioning what truly makes her tick. As the peers and former classmates she used to compare herself to enter similar periods of uncertainty under quarantine, Josephine is recalibrating her creativity and trying to forge her own path in fashion. Reflecting on her time at CSM, the British designer joins t

Sloggi x CSM A/W 2019 CampaignThe campaign, entitled 'Steady and Strong' for the modern underwear brand Sloggi came from the concept proposed by the creative team, stylist Daniela Benaim and writer Zofia Zwieglinska, both of whom came from the MA Fashion Communication course from Central Saint Martins. The campaign was executed by Mullenlowe, a creative agency. The advertisements for the premium 'S by Sloggi' range were centred around a universal theme of the meta fashion campaign: a unique focus point looking at the behin

Took the MA in Fashion Communication with the Fashion Journalism pathway. (2:1) My final project was about the revival of research-led, long form journalism in fashion as social media takes over the short form content on Instagram and Twitter. Won the Sloggi x CSM competition with Daniela Benaim and worked on the S by Sloggi campaign for AW20 and SS21 through a introspective ‘Meta Campaign’ inspired by fashion photography in fashion schools from the 90s.

Completed my BA in Combined Honours in English Literature and History of Art. (2:1) Worked on The Courier from 2015-2018, first as a contributor and then as fashion editor during my first year. Increased readership and viewership in our print and social media content. Focused on important topics for millennials: sustainability, trend pieces, diversity issues and big movers in fashion. Raised money and worked on group meets to develop our outreach program in the community.
