Any advice for a student looking for a year in industry placement?

  • Completely agree with @Vikki Ross but I’d also add that when contacting companies / agencies find those you feel a connection with. It might be their work, culture and / or clients, whatever it is, having a genuine interest in what they do will always be beneficial when reaching out.
  • Hey Ben,

Contact anyone you want to work with - you should be able to find most people's email addresses on here, Google, LinkedIn or their company/agency website - and tell them why you're interesting and interested. You never know who you might contact just as they're looking for someone like you. And if they aren't able to take you on right now, at least you've made contact and your new relationship may continue and be useful later.

    Best of luck,

    Vikki

  • If you have done this before I would create a LinkedIn account and connect with companies that you like and build rapport with hiring managers.
